Do you like Can? You do? Do you like the song Paper House? Splendid! Then you should know that the best version of that song is not on the record Tago Mago! Rather ist a 1972 German TV "Beat Club" recording you can find on Youtube. It begins with the bassist playing an introduction rather than immediately launching into the verse. Its subtle and interesting and foreshadows the falling theme to come. The recording is warmer, more alive and hunted than the album version. The album version has a chill to it, which is fine too but compared to this live recording it really seems like the studio failed Can. That is all for now. Mike Hanley
